Paula Temple presents her new collaborative project Jun. 19 at Arena Club

17.06. – In April, DJ/producer Paula Temple (a.k.a. Jaguar Woman) released the first edition of Decon/Recon, an intriguingly perplexing new series on her own label Noise Manifesto. The story is that she invited her buddies Olof Dreijer of The Knife (a.k.a Oni Ayhun), Jam Rostron (a.k.a. Planningtorock) and Hermione Frank (a.k.a. rRoxymore) to indirectly collaborate with her, each artist providing their own sounds into a pool from which they then drew, piecing them together to create their own dancefloor productions, with no clearly defined creator for any of the four tracks. Fans of each artist might have fun guessing who did what; for example, the sax sounds resemble classic Planningtorock, but to keep things confusing, she’s adopted a brand new alias for this project: Aquarian Jugs.

This Friday, they will present their Frankenstein technoid creations live for the first time in Berlin at Arena Club, with visual accompaniment created by queer-feminist porn director Marit Östberg and video artist Tania Gualeni. Aside from their live interplay meant to explore and disassemble identity and authorship, the group will be joined by DJs Lady Blacktronika and Cindy Looper to keep the party in motion.
