Concert

Tonight, queer Berliner concert-goers face quite a trilemma. Local duo Vow (pictured) will take the stage at About Blank (22:00) celebrating the release of their recent 7“ single, combining guitar, piano and earthysynths with a poetic lyrical sensibility. Tune-Yards, the project of California’s Merrill Garbus, bring their gorgeously kitchen-sinky noise-pop to Berghain (21:00) in support of their new third album Nikki Nack. Likewise touring behind their third record, Hercules & Love Af- fair play at Gretchen (21:00). The new tunes are catchy, but turning toward acid- house sounds, and with an increasingly unstable lineup, it remains to be seen whether Andy Butler & Co. can keep the dynamic in a live setting.

Kantine am Berghain

The former cantina to the left of the entrance of Berghain is a venue for concerts and parties, plus the lovely Bierhof Rüdersdorf beer garden during the summer. Paint peeling from the ceiling is part of its charm, along with old leather armchairs and cinema seating for chilling. The fireplace outside provides cozy warmth during the cooler months. The program spans techno nights to live bands on tour.
