Anniversary concert of the queer orchestra Conentus Alius
They’re full of not just enthusiasm, but also surprises, always offering colorful programs and exciting discoveries in their concerts: The members of the “homophilharmonic“ Concentus Alius, comprising both talented laypersons and dedicated professionals playing together. The orchestra has been sounding off in Berlin’s LGBTI community for the last 15 years, so tonight, you can indulge yourself to the birthday serenade at Komödie am Kurfürstendamm. The musicians have prepared a special twist for their awaiting audience: As a prelude you can hear a composition by legendary Austrian piano terrorist Friedrich Gulda, his Concerto for Cello and Wind Orchestra. Elsewhere, the orchestra travels through time, between the 1990s and the era of Franz Schubert, who was posthumously outed awhile back. Not taking themselves too seriously, Concentus Alius embarks upon a kitschy trip to Hollywood in a medley of tunes from Once Upon a Time in the West, James Bond sountracks and E.T.. Enjoy your flight!
