Concert from the frenetic Icelandic electro band
Mexico is the name of the new album by Icelandic electronic band GusGus (pictured). If you’re surrounded by cloud-covered volcano craters, you might long for some sun and hot desert sand. And burritos instead of dried fish. At any rate, GusGus have sharpened their sense of pop and let even more agile, shimmering synths into their radiant electro-pop sound. Tonight, Berliners can find out how the newfound lightness will translate into their usually energetic live shows. Tonight’s concert is sold out, but they’ve added a second show for tomorrow with tickets still available at press time. Filling the opening slots are Kiko King & Creativemaze (Sep. 23) and Paris XY (Sep. 24).

No doubt about it, Berghain is one of the most famous clubs in the world. The techno temple, including the Panorama Bar as well as the gay sex club Lab.oratory beneath, is impressively situated in an old power plant and brings in a widely mixed, international audience. Be sure to plan in a long wait at the queue outside during peak hours on the weekends.
