Plenty of weirdo selections are on offer at this year’s Fantasy Filmfest, running Aug. 5 thru 16. Even though there aren’t any specifically queer films in the program, there’s still plenty for LGBTI* audiences to discover: In the modern gothic drama Shrew’s Nest (pictured), a patriarchal family is revealed as a perverted hotbed of terror; in the surrealistc comedy Reality, a school principal dreams of crossdressing while driving a military Jeep; and in Excess Flesh, a woman with an eating disorder tortures her roommate with mutilation, force-feeding and bizarre eroticism.
