In his 1971 piece, Rainer Werner Fassbinder told the true story of Gesche Gottfried, who poisoned 15 people including her husbands. The murders were acts of liberation from patriarchal structures, which Fassbinder turned into the main theme. The play gets a new staging by Catharina May (pictured).
