Hildegard Knef, one of the last great German divas, died 16 years ago. Since then, her somewhat luckless sister Irmgard (pictured) has filled the gap. Behind this persona is Ulrich Michael Heissig, who’s taking Hilde’s old hits and added his own biting new lyrics, creating a Berlin classic of his own.
