Documentary about lesbian love in Ravensbrück concentration camp

Belgian opera singer Nelly Mousset-Vos and Chinese resistance fighter Nadine Hwang met as prisoners in Ravensbrück. Shortly before the end of the war in February 1945, Nelly and Nadine were separated once again. Nelly was deported to another hell, Mauthausen. Seriously ill, Nelly survived the concentration camp and was liberated by American soldiers in April 1945. Nadine, on the other hand, remained in Ravensbrück and discovered that a transport by the International Swedish Red Cross had been planned before the death marches. She put many women and children from Ravensbrück on the lists so that they could not be sent on the death march. From then on, the two women spoke little or nothing about this time. After the two women passed away, Nelly's granddaughter, Sylvie, received the couple's private archive in France and gradually opened it up after many years.

The film tells the story of Sylvie's rapprochement with her two lesbian grandmothers and recounts the incredible story of “horror in captivity and war” and the “love of the two women” against all odds. It tells of the lives of the two women, their “return to life” as they themselves described it in their diary.
