The young Thomas Guggeis made headlines when he conducted a “gay” interpretation of Wagner's ‘Tannhäuser’ in Frankfurt, which sought to showcase the “cultural history of homosexuality.” Now he is coming to Berlin to perform the exhilarating “Daphnis et Chloé” Suite No. 2 by queer composer Maurice Ravel (who many now interpret as ‘asexual’) with the Philharmonic Orchestra. Also on the program: Richard Strauss' blockbuster “Thus Spoke Zarathustra.”
