One of the most important historical LGBTIQ* texts

The infamous open letter that Oscar Wilde wrote to his ex-lover Lord Alfred Douglas while in Reading Gaol is one of the most important queer texts of modern times. While Wilde had lost everything because of his public homosexuality—his fame, his fortune, his wife, his children, his freedom—he settled scores with Douglas and his dubious role in all of this and defended his way of life. The text appeared in abridged form in German shortly after Wilde's death in 1905. In 1949, Wilde's son Vyvyan Holland published the complete text, including the passages that paint a stark picture of Douglas and the toxic relationship between the two men. Now director Oliver Reese and Jens Harzer are bringing this key LGBTIQ* text to the stage. A major event!
