"In the 1990s, Koray Yilmaz-Günay, a young gay man with a migrant background, witnessed how the Berlin gay and lesbian movement of the time increasingly alienated migrant, racialised, poor, trans and queer people. Together with allies, Koray became involved in the self-organisation of marginalised gay and lesbian communities and, through various political groups and most recently through the association GLADT e.V., had a significant influence on the Berlin and German discourse on the terms ‘queer’ and ‘of colour’."
