A nomadic siren returns to an Earth in crisis in human form. In her search for connection with other merfolk, she is confronted with the complex tensions between mythology and postmodern reality.

Her human body feels alien; breathing on land becomes increasingly difficult. Questioning conventional notions of biography, identity and belonging, ‘UNA’ wanders restlessly through the USA, whilst increasingly confronted by her rebellious body, which ultimately strives to become more-than-human.

SIRENS CALL is a genre-bending hybrid of science fiction, road movie and documentary about a subculture, which uses fantastical imagery to explore collective trauma, body politics and permanent transition.
