The “Queer CUNTine” transforms the Sophiensæle canteen into a nightclub: On the three Saturdays following performances of “Nestervals Eldorado”—an immersive theater piece about queer life in Berlin before and during the Nazi era—director, actor, curator, and activist Heinrich Horwitz invites Berlin-based artists of different generations to collectively evoke queer pioneers, ancestors, and myths, celebrate the present, and imagine a future. The result is three distinct bar nights featuring music, drag, stand-up comedy, and performance art—not just for the audience who attended the theater performance, but for everyone.
