Poetic singer/songwriter folk pop
In the late 1980s, the Rainbirds were (West) Berlin's most successful pop export across Europe. Rainbirds singer Katharina Franck moved to Neuruppin some time ago, and Fontane's birthplace seems to have an inspiring effect on her. In 2024, she published a book entitled “Momentausnahmen” (Momentary Exceptions), filled with poems, song lyrics, and essays about her own songs and those of others. In the stage show of the same name, she and jazz guitarist Werner Neumann play through her rich repertoire, which naturally includes lesbian classics such as ‘Holz’ and “Blueprint.”

People were dancing here way back around 1900, and the charm of that time has been preserved in the elegant tented venue. It's now a cultural location with a loyal queer following, home to the best artists when it comes to cabaret, comedy and chanson.
