Ange Halliwell, a trans man hailing from southwestern France, began playing the harp at the age of 12; on this instrument, he creates pastoral music ranging in spectrum from gentle ambient textures to dark, Gothic-tinged industrial sounds. Ange Halliwell’s latest CD, Spirit Are You Here, also features several guest vocalists who occasionally lend the album a pop sensibility. Fittingly, Ange Halliwell shares the evening with Martyna Basta—a sound artist from Kraków who, too, possesses a keen affinity for song-based forms.
