Avalon Emerson, who hails from San Francisco and now works in NYC, lived in Berlin for a while, and in her DJ sets at Panorama Bar she showed herself to be a big fan of melodic electropop from the period between 1987 and 1994. The music she has been singing and producing herself since 2023 has a similarly dreamy pop sound. However, “Eden,” the opening track of the second Avalon Emerson & The Charm album “Written Into Changes,” dedicated to her wife Hunter, grooves more like an early 1990s Manchester rave number.
