The Junge Ensemble Berlin presents a choral concert on the theme of peace, featuring Frank Bridge's A Prayer, Ralph Vaughan Williams' Dona nobis pacem, and the Ballad of Heroes by the gay British composer and pacifist Benjamin Britten (1913–1976), composed in 1939. The texts for this piece, about the victims of the Spanish Civil War, were written by Britten's friend W. H. Auden, who was also gay and had once lured him to Berlin.
