Pollyanna

»Pollyanna is a French (anglophone) indie-folk project lead by Isabelle Casier. Her honest songwriting and her heart-warming voice remind of the edgy charm of PJ Harvey, Ani di Franco and Johnny Cash. Despite a natural flair for minor chords, Isabelle’s cheerful presence, eclectic taste and experiences as an outsider (in Europe, the USA, South America...) open up her musical field to all things pop, rock, folk and folklores.
Casier writes songs in English, but uses her French taste for poetry and social commentary. As an ex-journalist, she loves to deal with 21th century obsessions, often with a kind sense of humour (Old Rockers, I wish I worked in a Factory): travels, the weight of the past, identities and resilience... Her songs are both timeless and ultimately contemporary.«

Barbara Cuesta

»Barbara Cuesta is a queer singer-songwriter whose career ranges from indie-pop beginnings with a major label, through theater music, to her English album Shine (2011). Her latest release, Euforia, blends political themes, intersectional collaboration, and top-notch production, featuring a team of queer and migrant-background artists. The track A Head Will Roll was featured in the Berlin Music Commission’s 2022 Listen to Berlin sampler. With her own label, Santinanes Records, named after her family’s Spanish village, Barbara emphasizes her independent and self-directed artistic vision.«
