The DSO presents the captivating Violin Concerto by the gay American composer Samuel Barber (1910-1981), with Geneva Lewis as soloist. Also on the program is Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 2 with David Khrikuli at the piano. (Yes, that's the concerto from "Heated Rivalry," Part 2.) This is combined with Lili Boulanger's "D'un matin de printemps" and the orchestral masterpiece "Don Juan" by Richard Strauss. Riley Court-Wood conducts.
