In addition to Bernstein's dazzling Candide Overture, the Landesjugendorchester will play his Symphonic Dances from West Side Story, as well as Barber's Violin Concerto and Adagio for Strings. Also: Concert Overture No. 1 by the recently rediscovered composer Florence Price (1887-1853), who, as a Black woman, was ignored in the US classical music world for far too long.
