Anyone who has seen singer Emily Intsiful—currently studying at the Jazz Institute Berlin—perform live will be convinced that a program dedicated entirely to the bisexual jazz icon Nina Simone, performed by the Emily Intsiful Trio, promises to be a musical treat. Whether as an unconventional interpreter of Hildegard Knef at a JIB "Vocal Night" or as a soloist at the state memorial service for Rita Süssmuth (where she joined a queer women's choir to sing Labi Siffre’s anthem "So Strong"), she has proven her talent. This is an open-air concert as part of the "Inseljazz" series; admission is by donation.
