"Erosão" - the 2021 solo debut by São Paulo-born lesbian drummer and vocalist Marié Portugal—was characterized both by the warm clarinet tones of her Quartabê bandmates and by abrupt storms of dissonance in true No Wave fashion. In her new adopted home of Berlin, she found two percussion partners—sound artist Emilio Gordoa and "Echtzeitmusik" pioneer Burkhard Beins—with whom to further develop the *Erosão* concept: a framework in which instant compositions can occasionally give rise to a concrete poetry piece by Augusto de Campos—such as the one set to music by Caetano Veloso. This is precisely what unfolds on the newly released debut LP by the Erosão Percussion Trio—and perhaps, too, at their record release concert at KM28.
