"Electronically Yours" is the motto of this year’s tour by the British electro-pop pioneers from Sheffield (known for hits like "Let Me Go" and "Temptation"). Neither Heaven 17 singer Glenn Gregory nor producer and musical mastermind Martyn Ware is gay, yet the latter once described his "musical DNA" as "black, gay, and electronic" in an article for *SIEGESSÄULE*. After all, in the 1980s, he helped Tina Turner stage a comeback and aided gay soul singer Terence Trent D’Arby in achieving his breakthrough. Furthermore, Ware has collaborated with numerous other queer acts (Andy Bell, Boy George, Billy MacKenzie, Maxim, and La Roux—who delivered a magnificent rendition of "Temptation"). And never has Heaven 17’s 1981 hit "(We Don’t Need This) Fascist Groove Thang" been more relevant than it is today!
