California-based gay sound artist and DJ Jake Muir has a penchant for field recordings and unusual sampling sources. His work “Bathhouse Blues,” which has been presented at the Goethe-Institut Boston, among other venues, is composed of snippets of dialogue and film soundtracks from gay porn movies from the 1970s. In Jake's adopted home of Berlin, the sound of different church bells inspired his latest work, “Campana Sonans.” He will be accompanied by British percussionist Haydn Douet Lukies during his performance in the Kuppelhalle. Before that, Australian ambient producer (and contemporary “Heroine of Sound”) will present her latest tape, “Muzak For The Encouragement Of Unproductivity.”
