Queer Berlin-based electronica artist Jasmine Guffond is a graduate of the Sound Studies Institute (recently wound up at the Berlin University of the Arts) and her work deals with topics such as human subjectivity in socio-technical systems. On her latest album, Muzak for the Encouragement of Unproductivity, she offers a kind of counter-model to traditional elevator music: instead of lulling easy listening, she creates sounds that can promote creativity in the workplace, albeit not necessarily for the tasks at hand.
