As part of this year's Märzmusik Festival, Luxa M. Schuettler, a trans woman who teaches composition in Stuttgart, is presenting her installation-based parcours “Noise Is A Queer Space” together with American percussionist Jennifer Torrence. Over the course of fifty minutes, a social play environment develops from a queer sound perspective, with the aim of creating “a kind of acoustic group selfie.” At the Darmstadt Summer Courses last summer, the promised “pop culture references” certainly got the premiere audience dancing.
