It is the ultimate sonic frenzy: Mahler's "Symphony of a Thousand" - based on texts from Goethe's "Faust", with a finale that elevates the resurrection to bombastic proportions - is performed by the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester under James Gaffigan together with soloists from Komische Oper and Rundfunkchor Berlin in the hangar of Tempelhof Airport, where Jesus Christ Superstar is also playing at the moment.
