Through her initial band and subsequent solo project, Electrelane, the lesbian singer and multi-instrumentalist Verity Susman released half a dozen post-rock albums during the 2000s - records that remain highly regarded among indie-pop fans to this day. Equally unforgettable were Electrelane’s live performances, which occasionally featured renditions of "Small Town Boy" reimagined in a Krautrock style. Verity Susman shares a penchant for cinematic "space sounds" with Wire member Matthew Simms; together, they formed the duo Memorials, whose debut album, "Memorial Waterslides", was widely hailed as one of the best new releases of 2024.
