The punk trio, founded in Atlanta in 2015, quickly gained a large fan base with their unbridled enthusiasm for playing and poignant lyrics about queer life in rough times. But by 2018, Michael Cera Palin were so burnt out by their nonstop touring that they had to take a multi-year hiatus. Their long-awaited debut album, We Could Be Brave, was released just this year. And with lines like "If you are what you eat / then I'm more man than you'll ever be," it aptly counters all faint-hearted attempts at assimilation.
