With its ‘Schubert & more’ series, the Konzertleben association aims to explore the world of Franz Schubert through this year’s support programme for young musicians. This encompasses his musical roots, the composers of his time, and those who carried on his musical legacy. Schubert’s music forms the centrepiece of the programme at the Max Planck Institute for Human Development. In keeping with the spirit of the place, the event is once again held under the motto ‘Music Educates’.

This time, Schubert is placed in relation to two significant composers of his generation: Ludwig van Beethoven, whose artistic personality was an important source of inspiration for Schubert, and Carl Maria von Weber, who played a decisive role in shaping the Romantic musical language with his music.
