After her achievements as a rhyming electroclash pioneer, sex-positive activist and, not least, a long-standing ally of the queer community were extensively celebrated (and captured on film) in anniversary shows marking her 2000 debut "The Teaches Of Peaches", Merrill Nisker felt the time was right for a new Peaches album. The vision sung about on “No Rube So Rude” – that with more lubricant, many a stifling problem could be solved even on a political level – once again makes for excellent dancing. As support for her two sold-out shows, Peaches has invited the Iranian drag performer Dornika, who also lives in Berlin, to sing with comparable virtuosity about self-empowerment through body positivity (“Fatbulous”) and spicy body hair (“Bush”).
