The openly gay organist Cameron Carpenter, together with conductor Leonard Slatkin and the Radio Symphony Orchestra Berlin, will perform works by the three great gay American composers of the 20th century: Alongside Samuel Barber’s ‘Toccata festiva’, the programme features ‘Three Dance Episodes’ from Leonard Bernstein’s sailor musical ‘On the Town’ and Aaron Copland’s Symphony No. 3. Also on the programme: ‘Adagio for String Orchestra’ by Cindy McTee. On 8 May at 10:00 am, you can attend a guided rehearsal with Slatkin at the Haus des Rundfunks; registration is required.
