On the closing day of the eighth "Jazzwoche Berlin," the focus will naturally extend beyond various panel discussions to include live musical performances. Providing a fitting and atmospheric finale is the Berlin-based ensemble KOOB, led by the Belarusian-born Valeryaia Dele. In her homeland, she had already earned a reputation as the "Soul Princess of Belarus" before studying at the Berlin Jazz Institute, where she recruited a kindred spirit—a queer musician—to join her avant-pop project, KOOB. Valeryaia’s deeply personal lyrics—which explore both her experiences as an immigrant and the restless pace of life in her adopted home—were captured to perfection on the live-recorded album 'Off Head'.
