A considerable number of lesbians were involved in the resistance against fascism during the Nazi era.
Monica Tschanz (founder of the FrauenLesbenBuchhandlung Berlin) has researched over 100 names from 18 countries
and will present seven of them in more detail with pictures, videos, and music:
Thérèse Pierre (France) was the leader of over 100 partisans
in the Resistance.
Jacoba van Tongeren (Netherlands) founded the resistance network Groep 2000 together with
her partner.
Ilse Totzke (Germany) tried to help her Jewish friends escape

Hedwig Koslowski (Germany) hid her Jewish
partner Gertrude Sandmann in Berlin. The future Rembetiko star
Sotiria Bellou (Greece) distributed leaflets.
Hilda Gobbi (Hungary) delivered forged identity cards.
Miyamoto Yuriko (Japan) was a writer and member of the Japanese Communist Party. Josephine Baker (Bi+)(USA/France), who was often on secret missions
Marlene Dietrich (Bi+)(Germany/USA),
who enlisted in the US Army
