Book presentation
Drawing on texts, interviews, and archival material, historian Teresa Tammer recounts the compelling life story of Karin Dauenheimer. As a theologian, feminist, lesbian, and single mother, she defied the expectations of the state and society. She wrote for an underground feminist magazine and organized women’s festivals that became a key catalyst for the emergence of an East German lesbian movement. Consequently, she was targeted by the State Security Service for years.
