Part of the Poesiefestival 2026
As part of this year’s poetry festival, Ozan Zakariya Keskinkılıç appears as another LGBTIQ* highlight. He will read previously unpublished poems and present his poetry film burak.
The festival state: “It is always the urban space in which Keskinkılıç’s lyrical selves explore themes such as migration, experiences of racism, queer desire, and Muslim spirituality.”
In the poetry film burak, Keskinkılıç transforms his writing into a sensual experience: we encounter burak in Hasenheide, follow him into the four walls of a typical Berlin Altbau apartment, seek out glances and lose them again. The film was created in collaboration with director Sami Morhayim, musician Fabian Saul, and actor Benyamin Reich.
In conversation with Melina Brüggemann, Keskinkılıç will offer insights into collaborative working methods with other artists and speak, in the context of the reading, about the current process of working on his second poetry collection.
The event will be held in German.
