In colloquial terms, ‘unicorn hunting’ usually refers to heterosexual couples who want to persuade a woman to join them for a threesome. What appears in Häly Heinecker’s feature film debut to be an ordinary couple on the prowl soon turns out to be anything but: Sanya hires an escort service to fulfil her queer desires under the guise of heteronormativity, whilst becoming increasingly entangled in her web of relationships.
