A ban on buying sex will not be able to abolish prostitution, but it will make it disappear from view. Laws against forced prostitution, pimping and human trafficking already exist. We need low-threshold counselling services, subsidised transition offers, the right to stay for victims of human trafficking, recognition as a free profession and, above all, destigmatisation of the industry.
