The Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Edward Gardner, performs the famous ‘Stabat Mater’ by the gay Polish composer Karol Szymanowski, which experienced a real boom in the 1990s thanks to Simon Rattle's trance-like recording. Here, the piece is combined with Mahler's 4th Symphony. The Berlin Radio Choir provides the vocals.
