Opern- und Operettenprogramm

The Seoul-born coloratura soprano has many queer fans because she has recorded a great deal of rare bel canto repertoire, including works with conductor Richard Bonynge. In Berlin, she presents a wide range of pieces, from Donizetti's "Fille du régiment" through Vivaldi and Rossini to Gounod and Bellini ("Casta diva"), as well as works by Franz Lehár and Johann Strauss. The program also includes compositions by Geung-Su Lim, Nanpa Hong, and Heung-Ryeol Lee. Joining her is tenor Sungho Christian Kim. Andrey Vinichenko accompanies her on the piano. The event is organized by the Korean Cultural Center, which is celebrating the 40th anniversary of Sumi Jo's international operatic debut. More information can be found here.
