Ficken3000 was never just a club. It is a state of mind, a rumor, a promise. In a city that reinvented itself after reunification and where freedom emerged faster than rules, Ficken3000 was a place where desire was not explained, but lived: raw, loud, excessive, and yet astonishingly precise in its attitude. Those who came here were not looking for representation, but friction. The club is exemplary of a Berlin that saw itself as the capital of freedom long before it was marketed internationally: cheap, improvised, political in the best sense of the word.

The exhibition takes up the idea that this freedom cannot be taken for granted, but must be fought for again and again—not out of nostalgia, but as a structural investigation. Zuzanna Czebatul, professor at the Braunschweig University of Art, brings this debate to Berlin together with her class. The result is an exhibition that presents positions rather than objects. As is also the case in Ficken3000, the focus here is on spaces that are not neutral, on hierarchies that are inscribed in architecture, symbols, and bodies, and on the possibility of making these orders visible, shifting them, or subverting them.
