Schulz transforms places of wild partying and collective experience into quiet pictorial spaces. He condenses them atmospherically and formally, evoking the aesthetics of so-called lost places. Added to this are portraits of the masters of ceremony of these places, who were effectively forced to take a break at that time: their resident DJs, in their usual habitats but completely without their invigorating audience."
