That evening, she will begin her examination with an insight into the connections with the gender order. The lecture will discuss the multiple changes in the gender order over the course of human evolution, how we know this, what led to it, and why the future is uncertain.

Samirah Kenawi was born in East Berlin in 1962. She witnessed and helped shape the beginnings of the lesbian movement in the GDR and was active in several unofficial GDR groups even before the fall of the Berlin Wall. She founded the GrauZone archive, which documents the GDR women's and lesbian movement. After 1989, she entered politics and headed the Berlin office of the Independent Women's Association (UFV) in 1990. After studying alternative economics, she developed a monetary theory that was published in four volumes from 2020 to 2023 under the collective title Die Quadratur des Geldes (The Quadrature of Money).
