In the GDR, highly active and vibrant networks of lesbian-feminist artists existed. What spaces were they able to carve out for themselves, and which remained closed to them? Drawing on Therese Koppe’s documentary film *Im Stillen laut* (2019) and Judith Geffert’s audio drama *Kontaktanzeigen: Queere Generationendialoge in Ostdeutschland* (co-created with Mike Dele Dittrich Frydetzki and Jule Gorke, 2024), the two artists speak with Nina Weller about artistic practices, collective strategies, and forms of self-empowerment among lesbian artists in the GDR.
