Quo Vadis CSD?

Panel discussion, organized by Siegessäule: There's trouble about the gay pride in Berlin. The organizers want to change not only the name (in Stonewall Parade), but also the structural and financial concept. Quo Vadis CSD?
How is Berlin’s CSD, the city’s pride fest, going to go on? Why are activists, groups, as well as the official CSD organization getting into such bitter arguments? And what does this actually mean for the month of June – will there be one, two or maybe even three festivals? Or a Stonewall Parade? Siegessäule, together with SchwuZ, is holding a lively panel discussion. We want to shed light on the current dispute and go even further: How can and should a CSD be organized and financed? What about transparency? What does the Berliner community think about it all, and how have other cities dealt with similar conflicts? To what extent should branding play a role during the high homo holy days? The panelists will be announced in our online calendar as soon as they’re confirmed. Gudrun Fertig and Manuela Kay will moderate.
In existence since 1977, SchwuZ is one of Berlin's most beloved queer institutions. A nightclub with three dancefloors and bars, it serves a platform for LGBTI* subculture in Neukölln and the city at large. Since 2021 the Pepsi Boston Bar opens its doors during the week and welcomes Queers & Friends.
