Queer city tour

Why is the Magnus Pharmacy on Motzstraße called the "Magnus Pharmacy," and why is the café run by the Berliner Aids-Hilfe e. V. named after a 24-hour supermarket? Who exactly is this "Christopher Street" person who gets celebrated around June and July? Or—wasn't there something involving Judy Garland on June 28th? And what does Judy Garland’s daughter have to do with Berlin? What is the significance of the giant colorful pencil standing in front of the Metropol? How, exactly, do two "leather guys" greet each other at Folsom? And who was the most famous "pig" on Motzstraße?

For over ten years, Gaby Tupper has been answering these questions - and many more - with expert knowledge and impeccable drag makeup during her walking tour around Nollendorfplatz and Motzstraße. For over a decade, this drag queen and queer activist has been guiding visitors through the world's oldest LGBT*IQ+ neighborhood, sharing "homo-sensational" queer stories (from Berlin and beyond), performing queer songs spanning from 1920 to 2023, and presenting excerpts from queer literature.
