CTM Festival opening
The music and club program for this year’s “Festival for Adventurous Music and Art” has, for corona reasons, been pushed back to the end of May. But from Jan 19-Feb 6, there’s still something left of the originally planned events to take in. Bethanien exhibition Connected Alienation/ Vernetzte Entfremdung opens today, offering a promising interdisciplinary program. Four artists present their works, each respectively developed in collaboration with several other artists. Experimental musician Ale Hop worked with the composers Ana Quiroga and Concepción Huerta (among others) for her CTM piece; dancer and choreographer Dana Gingras with the likes of drag queen Alaska Thunderfuck (photo) and electoclash icon Peaches; and visual artist Ibrahim Quraishi with heavies like performance art legend Marina Abramović, while digital project nerd_funk’s contribution integrates producer Arca and DJ, designer and performer Patrick Mason. All pieces in the audiovisual show are themed around encounters and physical contact.
