At P14, the Volksbühne’s youth theater, young people bring their own themes to the table. They decide what to present on stage and what form it takes. In *Schwule Nonnen im Kloster* (Gay Nuns in the Convent), Antoni Zawol explores the interplay between faith, family, and queer identity, and examines what happens when a place of oppression transforms into a safe space.

What is it about? Six young people come out to their parents and are sent to a convent for a week to undergo a radical conversion program. To their surprise, the convent is merely a façade—created by a "Drag Mother Superior" to protect queer youth. Over the course of the week, the six confront their queerness as well as their relationships with religion and family, all while learning to come to terms with themselves.

*Schwule Nonnen im Kloster* marks Antoni’s directorial debut. Together with Amadou—who has been performing with P14 for some time and has just finished school—they share the story of how they found their way to P14.
