New work by the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin
The ecstasies of love that Richard Wagner unleashes in Act 2 of his opera "Tristan and Isolde" are among the most exciting things anyone has written for musical theater. It is pure overwhelming, with lesbian undertones in the moments when Brangäne joins the Irish king's daughter as her companion. The Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester presents this "nightsong" of a larger-than-life love that shatters social conventions in concert with Dorothea Röschmann as Isolde, Karen Cargill as Brangäne and Michael Weinius as Tristan.
Dirigent: Robin Ticciati
